This girl codes

I got to be part of an amazing project called ‘This Girl Codes’ with a mix of science, tech, engineering, arts and maths. This project brings to light women’s heritage stories from across the Bolsover district. In this project I created a VR experience transporting us along @creswellcrags timeline, starting at 125,000 years ago! Using all the creative artwork from all the talented young people, from a workshop I delivered summer 2023. There’s even woolly mammoths and hippos! My favourite quote from last week has to be a young girl saying ‘it’s officially as if I’m in heaven’ when she was in the VR headset.

It’s always exciting teaching young people how to use the digital arts and I love their at times crazy enthusiasm!

I loved working alongside a lot of talented artists @philpearsonfilms @artygirl21 @sianwtaylor @tyler.elizabeth.turner and check out Kakou technologies! And Jim Brouwer. Thank you @artygirl21 and @sianwtaylor for bringing me on to the project! I’ve loved this project and I am always being inspired by your guys work! This great project is a @junctionartsuk project funded by UK gov. Powered by leveling up in partnership with Bolsover district council.
